This weekend The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opened to mixed reviews but was top at the box office for the weekend. I have always loved super heroes, but I have to admit I've read very few comic books so I can't attest to the accuracy of this reboot as compared to the comics--I can only judge this move on its own merits.

Gangster Squad: Movie Review

I have been interested in the Mafia and organized crime for years now--no I'm not involved in it, I just write about it in my mystery novels. So whenever a new gangster movie comes out I'm always curious and try to go see it if the trailers make it look like it could be good. From the first trailer I saw months ago, I felt like Gangster Squad had the potential to be a good movie so we headed out to see it this weekend.

We finally made it to see The Amazing Spider-Man this Sunday and I must say it was worth the wait. First off I must confess I don’t read comic books, though I do love comic book superheroes. I can’t tell you whether or not this reboot of Spider-Man is completely accurate to the comic books, but I can tell you whether or not it’s a good movie. And it is!
