I’m a relatively simple gal. Most of my wardrobe comes from Target and a local shop where nothing seems to cost over forty dollars. I’ve never coveted fancy stuff. Then one day I walked into a local jewelry store to ask if they’d donate to my kid’s elementary school silent auction and I saw… it. A slim bracelet made of sapphires in a variety of colors arranged by shade like a rainbow. I. Fell. In. Love.
Things are going pretty well at the Crozat Plantation in Pelican, Louisiana. The guest rooms are booked, Halloween is near, and Maggie’s relationship with Bo couldn’t be better. The bookings are due in part, to a plan Maggie devised. A phone app had locals renting out spare bedrooms, which hurt B&B business. Pelican’s Spooky Past features crafts, down-home cooking, a pet costume parade, and a play that takes place in the cemetery.
Covid-19 is scary enough and has us all wearing masks. Grab some candy, a pumpkin spice latte, and settle down with these Halloween reads. Many came out earlier, but I saved them for you as a treat!
Mia Carina was living in Florida when her husband disappeared. His adulterous ways, the lack of a body, and her mob connections (dad), made her a person of interest. It was time for a major change. She’s back in Astoria, Noo Yawk, living with her cat and Nonna (Italian grandmother). Her new job is technically the event planner at her father’s newly acquired banquet hall. In reality, it’s trying to keep him on the straight and narrow while running the business. The “newly acquired” means there was a guy who couldn’t pay his gambling debts and the mob was involved, and now there’s the banquet hall to run, totally legit, of course.
