When attorney Andy Carpenter doesn’t have a case in court, his investigative team gets restless. The team consists of Andy’s wife, Lorie, an ex-cop, Sam who is a computer genius, Marcus who is their muscle, Corey, also an ex-cop, and Simon Garfunkle who is Corey’s retired K-9 partner. They call themselves the K Team.

Chris Meyers used to be a lawyer. They don’t let you do that anymore after you’ve been convicted of a felony, even if you swear you’re innocent. After all, the jury didn’t believe you, so why should the Bar Association?
Through no fault of his own, attorney Andy Carpenter has a new case. It’s not like he seeks them out but that they fall into his lap and usually involve dogs. This time it’s Lion, an older Chow who was adopted through the Tara Foundation, Andy’s rescue group. Andy gets a phone call from Lion’s adopter, Rachel, who asks, if anything happens to her, would he make sure Lion finds another home if her stepson, Tony, can’t take him? Of course, he agrees.
Corey, Simon Garfunkel, Laurie, and Marcus make up the K Team: Simon being a retired K9 officer, Laurie and Corey being retired police officers, and Marcus, well, being Marcus. Those who see him don’t need further explanation. Those who don’t see him are soon napping on a sidewalk after a sudden confrontation with concrete.
Another year has ended and once again we take a look back at just a few of the many books that were reviewed in KRL and KRL News and Reviews in 2021. Everyone knows Andy Carpenter loves dogs, especially Tara, his Golden Retriever. And everyone knows, he walks them in the park for a bedtime break. This time he has company. His secretary, Edna, who never does any work, is getting married and has brought her fiancé around to meet Andy and Laurie. When it’s time to walk the dogs, the fiancé goes along, leaving Edna and Laurie at the house for girl talk.
Andy Carpenter is a lawyer who hates taking cases. Thanks to an inheritance and an obnoxious winning streak his clients appreciate, he no longer has to go to court. Somehow, he ends up there anyway.
This time, it’s an out-of-town case. On the weekends, Andy, his wife Laurie, son Ricky, golden Tara, and basset Sebastian take an evening walk together.
Corey Douglas and his K-9 partner, German shepherd Simon Garfunkel, recently retired from the police force. Now with Laurie and Marcus, they are the K Team, private investigators.
