On May 29, 2010 Kings River Life Magazine was born and it’s been full steam ahead ever since. We’ve gone from a strictly local focus to nationwide, with readers and writers from all over the country, and even one from Australia. So as we set off to see what adventures await us in our third year, as we continue to grow and evolve, we are sharing this birthday with you with two contests!
These poems were written by local teens who won our most recent Teen Talk poetry contest. The contest is open to anyone age 13-19. Any subject or type of poem will be considered with five or more poems selected each time.
What would a vampire give up to be human again? Anna Strong faces that question in Jeanne C. Stein’s Crossroads. Anna has only been a vampire for a year, but the bounty hunter is the Chosen One, trying to control the evil vampires who would turn mankind into walking blood vending machines.
These poems were written by local teens who won our September 2011 Teen Talk poetry contest. This time we only have two winners-one from Parlier and the other from Reedley. The contest is open to anyone age 14-19. The next contest results will be published in October and will have a Halloween theme.
