The world of Dr. Seuss comes to life in The Cat Is Back now playing at the Enchanted Playhouse in Visalia. The children’s show was co-directed by Debbie Metzler and Kay Whistler. The story, which is an amalgamation of various Dr. Seuss stories: The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, and The Sneetches and Other Stories, was adapted by director Debbie Metzler.

On the Reedley High School campus there are many different clubs of all shapes and sizes. French Club, Drama Club, GSA, FFA, Christian Club, Key Club—something for everyone to be a part of, and they all serve a purpose of some kind. One of the newer clubs on campus strives to do something bigger–something that reaches way beyond Reedley High, and even Reedley itself.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is the third movie about a lion named Alex (Ben Stiller) and his friends who in the previous movies broke out of the zoo and went to Africa. It starts out with Alex having a bad dream about all of them becoming old in Africa, which spurs him on to get back home to New York City to the Central Park Zoo which he finds himself homesick for.

Pirates! Band of Misfits stars Hugh Grant as the voice of Pirate Captain, who leads a band of misfit pirates. They go to sign up for the Pirate of the Year awards with the hopes that this year will finally be his year, but he can’t compete with the other pirates in the competition and gets discouraged until he meets Charles Darwin (David Tennant).

If you have a child interested in theatre Children’s Musical Theaterworks (CMT) in Fresno might be just what you’ve been looking for. The company was started in 1996 by Joel Abels (StageWorks Fresno) to create a place where kids and teens could come together to share in the magic of theatre.

The Little Mermaid?” Oh, yeah. I remember that, the mermaid that wants to be with the human prince, with the singing crab under the sea, and the octopus lady, and…Wait! That was the Disney version! Visalia’s Enchanted Playhouse is presenting a musical a lot closer to the story that Hans Christian Andersen wrote in the 1800s.

Puss in Boots is a computer-animated movie that tells the cat’s story before the Shrek movies occurred. Just like in the Shrek movies, Puss is voiced by actor Antonio Banderas. The movie shares about how he was in an orphanage as a kitten and became best friends with Humpty Dumpty who was obsessed with finding magic beans.
