The Source LGBT+ Center, serving Tulare and Kings County, is proud to present the second annual Youth Summit on December 11, 10 AM, at St Paul Episcopal Church’s Rivera Hall, 120 N. Hall St, Visalia. The Our Power Youth Summit is for LGBTQ+ and allied youth between the ages of 12-19, who are ready to come together outside of social media and transform the way advocacy is seen in their generation.
At this event our youth will come together in a safe setting to determine the different ways to advocate in their community through creativity, wellness, and active engagement workshops. They will learn that by coming together they can create more powerful voices. Local creative artist Priscilla McNamara will be the keynote speaker. Workshops designed to empower youth include Radical Self-Love presented by Fresno EOC, Slam Poetry with Mike Jasso, and Know Your Rights by California Rural Legal Assistance (CRLA). Participants will receive a workshop kit to help them brainstorm, take notes, and develop ideas. Pizza will fuel the day’s activities, and the first 50 attendees to arrive are entered in a drawing to win a raffle gift basket worth $100!
After the workshops and closing ceremony there is an AMAZING Recharge Rave primed and ready for all youth participants. With snacks, drinks, and a safe space to have fun and dance with like-minded peers, the party starts at 3:10pm and ends at 5:00pm. Let’s Glow Crazy!
Our youth will leave determined to elevate the power not only within themselves but throughout their communities. Amplify your voice! Register by Friday December 10 and be a part of this change our world needs. https://forms.gle/2mWiASSyZ5VVcKA86
