When you think of the word “forensics,” the first thing that pops into your head is CSI. In high schools, forensics is actually a speech and debate class. When some students don’t look at the course definition, they are often disappointed to find out that they won’t be solving crimes! Going into forensics, I knew that it had nothing to do with catching serial killers and saving the world. Having an overwhelming fear of public speaking, let alone one-on-one speaking, I knew it would be a struggle.

Reasons To be Vegan

I ordered a Big Mac the other day and I told them to hold the meat, the sauce, and the cheese. Why? Because I’m a vegan. I’m not going to be one of those vegans who preach it as if it’s a religion, but there are many benefits of veganism. First of all, veganism isn’t so much a diet as it is a philosophy and a lifestyle. There are environmental benefits, health benefits, and the benefit of saving animals from cruel treatment.

Amber Hunt is the only French teacher at Reedley High School. She is amazing at staying cool even though she has a full schedule. If you go into her room during lunch, there will generally be a big group of kids visiting her. She’s not only a great teacher but a great person.

Shaylee Schmidt makes it quite obvious through her work that she truly cares about her students; she’s constantly encouraging them and helping them in different ways. Mrs. Schmidt is one of the physical education teachers at Reedley High School. She lives in Kingsburg, where she grew up and attended Kingsburg elementary school, and later graduated from Immanuel. She has diverse working experience from working at a packing house to being a secretary and now, a teacher.

Suicide. Scary word, right? Every year over 36,000 people take their own lives. Every 15 minutes someone commits suicide in the United States alone. That’s a little over one hundred people a day and that does not include failed attempts.
