I can’t imagine a play better suited for Halloween month than Dracula, and the College of the Sequoias in Visalia has their own version of the play on stage right now! Professor of Cinema & Theatre Arts, and director of the show, Chris Mangels, adapted this play from the book. The remaining performances are October 16-18.

The Phantom Tollbooth Presented By the Visalia Players

This fall, audiences at the Ice House Theater in Visalia will be transported into a world of whimsy, wonder, and wordplay as the Visalia Players bring The Phantom Tollbooth to life. Directed by Robert Simpkins with Assistant Director Velva Hampson, the production runs September 19 – October 5, with performances every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

It’s the start of spooky season, and what better way to kick things off than with a classic ghost story at Encore Theatre? After the Encore Kid reunion show closed in May, the theatre went dark for the summer to complete some exciting renovation projects such as brand-new flooring and tables. In the theatre world, “going dark” means entering a period where there are no productions happening at that time. Now that the renovations are over, Encore is giving new meaning to the phrase “going dark.”

Cady Mejias was born in Fresno, and still lives there to this day and has graced the stage of several local theatre companies.
