A Dog’s Purpose is a new movie based on the novel by W. Bruce Cameron. It is about a dog that is trying to find his purpose in life. He is reincarnated several times throughout the movie into various dogs and experiences life with new owners. The movie particularly focuses on his life as Bailey with a young boy named Ethan. He is a devoted dog to his owners in all of his lives and learns the meaning of life through his experiences where he helps his owners learn to love and find happiness.

Alice Through the Looking Glass is the sequel to the 2010 version of Alice in Wonderland starring Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Through the Looking Glass begins with Alice sailing her father’s ship, Wonder, as the captain through a storm. After a three-year journey on sea, she returns to London to her mother.

The Road Chip is the newest Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. It starts out with Dave introducing his girlfriend, Samantha, and her son Miles to the chipmunks over mini golf. When the grownups aren’t looking Miles plays pranks on the chipmunks but when they are watching he acts like a perfect gentlemen.

Hotel Transylvania 2 starts a couple years or more after the first movie. Johnny and Mavis (Count Dracula’s daughter) are married and have their first child, Dennis. Drac (as they refer to him in the movie) has changed his mind about humans and has opened up the hotel to allow humans as well as monsters to stay there and Johnny, his son in law, works at the hotel as well.

Inside Out is an animated Disney/Pixar film about a young girl, Riley, and how she and her family had to move from Minnesota because her dad got a job in San Francisco. Riley is a happy girl who loved her life in Minnesota but the move changes that because she misses her old home and friends.

Tomorrowland begins in 1964 with a child named Frank who brings his new invention, a jet pack, to show off at the World’s Fair. Unfortunately for Frank, the judge, David Nix (Hugh Laurie from House), is not at all impressed with the invention. However, a young girl named Athena finds interest in Frank and gives him a pin. She whispers to him to follow her and the judge on It’s a Small World, where the pin takes him through a secret passage that leads to another world, Tomorrowland. This changes Frank’s life forever.

Home is an animated film based on the book, “The True Meaning of Smekday” by Adam Rex. An Alien race called the Boov are running away from the evil Gorg. They make Earth their home and they relocate the humans to a different part of the Earth so they can live in their human homes. A young girl, Gratuity, nicknamed Tip by her friends, is separated from her mom, and is on a mission to find her.

I always enjoy it when a movie starts with a short. The pre-show before Cinderella was a Frozen short about Ana’s Birthday and how Elsa was trying to make her birthday special but she came down with the Frozen Fever where she sneezed mini snowmen. It was really a cute story worth seeing in itself.

Paddington is based on the children’s books written by Michael Bond and Illustrated by Peggy Fortnum. Paddington Bear is a young bear from darkest Peru that travels to London in search of a new home. He is sent by his Aunt Lucy after an earthquake destroys their home and she must retire at the Bears home for senior bears. She cannot take a young bear to the retirement center so she must help him find a new home.

The new Annie movie is loosely based on the original Annie musical from the 1930s. In this version of the story, Annie is a girl in Foster care in New York City with three other girls. Their foster mom is Ms. Hannigan and is very similar in character from the original movie in 1982 but has a modern twist to it.

The Penguins of Madagascar features the penguins from the Madagascar series of movies. This movie starts where the third movie left off with the penguins leaving the circus and going to break into Fort Knox to celebrate the youngest penguin, Private’s, birthday. They steal cheese nibbles out of the vending machine which is a discontinued product.

Big Hero Six is an animated film by Disney about Hiro and his friends. It starts out with 14-year-old robotics prodigy, Hiro, at the robot fights with his small robot. He is a genius boy who spends his time obsessed with the fights. However, his big brother, Tadashi convinces him to give up the robot fights and begin college.

Traveling with Westies is always full of adventures, and traveling with Natisa and Cosette is no exception. They love to go in the car for a quick trip to town or for a longer adventure to San Diego. They even enjoy the rides to the vet or groomers—until we arrive. They are Therapy dogs and when we do visits at senior homes each week, they both try to be the first in the car to go. I think it’s like a competition for them. They will go anywhere with me.
