KRL has always been a big supporter of local sports teams, and many of us here are hockey fans. Fresno is lucky to have it’s own hockey team, the Fresno Monsters. We took some time to interview their Head Coach/General Manager Bryce Dale.

If you go see the Raisin’ Cain Players production of Mary Poppins at the Selma Arts Center (and you should), and you are old enough to remember the movie of the same title (like me), be prepared for a great and nostalgic ride, because this is a production that has so many wonderful elements, it’s hard to pick just a few to share in a review of this length.

The Reedley College Tiger’s season ending 43-38 loss at Monterey Peninsula College Saturday night was a microcosm of their season. They fell behind, rallied to take a late lead, and gave up the winning touchdown with less than a minute to play.

Interstellar, a top contender for the Golden Globes, is a really hard movie to describe. On one hand, you have an incredible sci-fi space movie about saving the human race. On the other, however, there is the last act of the movie, which you will either love or hate.

A loss is a loss, and Reedley College football coach Randy Whited will tell you that as well, but the takeaway truth from Saturday’s 28-24 loss to Hartnell College is that the Tigers are back – back to the level of performance and expectation we haven’t seen in several years.

Most football coaches will tell you they don’t believe in moral victories. Reedley College football Coach Randy Whited may or may not be in that particular group, but he has to be somewhat pleased with the way his team fought and fought before finally surrendering to Fresno City College 49-44 Saturday night in Fresno.

I’m not one to complain (don’t ask the editor about that, please), but Reedley College’s football team is getting a bit predictable. For the third straight week, the Tigers fell behind, and then rallied to take a late lead. The difference this last Saturday night was the Tigers snuffed out a late rally by Gavilan and won the game 44-33, to even their season record at 2-2.

One of the fun things about attending a sporting event is not knowing the outcome ahead of time. But Saturday night at Reedley High School Stadium, the fans not only didn’t know the outcome beforehand, they didn’t know the final score on their way out, either, after an inexcusable blunder by the game officials left a black cloud hanging over the entire event.
