The Reedley College Tigers found a cure for their season long funk on Saturday afternoon. They played the Merced College Blue Devils. The Tigers ripped the Merced defense to shreds and won their 2012 homecoming game by a score of 52-38.

Quarterback Sean Stell had his finest game as a Tiger, throwing for 387 yards and an amazing six touchdowns. Earnest Carter had a great 90 yard touchdown run, but also provided a low-light for the Tigers, getting ejected from the game for kicking an opponent. By rule, Cater will also miss the Tigers’ next game.

Obviously, giving up 38 points will not sit well with the Tiger defensive coaches, but they were facing an excellent Quarterback in Rudy Monteon, who threw for 306 yards and four touchdowns.

So the Tigers will now play their next two games on the road, beginning with this Saturday night’s contest in Coalinga, against the West Hills Falcons. Coalinga has always been a difficult place to ply for the Tigers, but with some confidence on offense, perhaps a two game winning streak will be the result.
