I know Thanksgiving is over, and Christmas is almost over (or over, depending on when you read this) but this fun holiday mystery anthology is a blast to read any time of the year! It is the fifth book in a series of Thanksgiving mystery anthologies published by Untreed Reads and edited by J. Alan Hartman.
This edition has stories by some wonderful mystery short story writers, many of which have also had stories published in Kings River Life. There are stories by Barbara Metzger, Arthur Carey, Earl Staggs, KM Rockwood, Herschel Cozine, Kelley Lortz, Bobbi A. Chukran, Lesley A. Diehl, Albert Tucher, Maryann Miller, Liz Milliron, Betsy Bitner, DG Critchley, and KRL’s own Terrance V. Mc Arthur. And as if you needed even more reasons to check this one out-Lisa Wagner provides delicious recipes!
Earl Staggs story “Stakeout in a Maple Tree” is heartwarming and fun. “Kid Kelly” by Herschel Cozine is delightfully funny and something you could totally see happening at Thanksgiving dinner. The setting of “The Golden Potato” by Terrance Mc Arthur is something you hopefully won’t experience at your holiday dinners–it is wonderfully witty, and had a very unexpected twist at the end.
