This holiday, Valley Animal Center has three ways you can support them!

1. Thanks to the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters – Holiday Hope Event, Valley Animal Center has the opportunity to reduce adoption fees to $50 on select dogs and cats (puppies and kittens excluded). The last day to receive this offer is December 11. Here are just a few who qualify:

Kimana (12969): Sadly, this queen was returned to Valley Animal Center in June after she had been adopted back in 2017. She was originally welcomed by the shelter in 2012, so she’s been let down a couple of times. She’s a big gal with a goofy personality and only gets along with other dogs her size. Currently, animal care staff members are working on her diet, and she is only available to those interested in fostering her first.

Princess Rosalinda (24067): As you can see, Princess Rosalinda is a beauty! She has been with Valley Animal Center since March 2021 and was very pregnant with her six kittens at the time. Princess Rosalinda has a very strong personality, is very independent, and appreciates having her own space. She’s definitely the kind of cat who will come to you only when she pleases. The organization recommends she go to a home with no other pets or young children.

Kilowatt (23879): Kilowatt is a goofy and active gal who needs lots of attention. She’s been with Valley Animal Center since January 2021. She would do best in a home where someone can be with her for most of the day. A large backyard would also make Kilowatt’s dreams come true this Christmas. If you have plenty of patience and can provide her with additional training and chew toys, Kilowatt is your girl!

DeLuca (22202): DeLuca was named after Andrew DeLuca, a fictional character from the popular ABC television series Grey’s Anatomy, because of his sweet and charming personality. He is currently five years old and has been in the shelter since October 2020. Sadly, DeLuca has Feline Herpes and will be on medication for the rest of his life. He is only available to serious adopters at this time.

Anyone interested in adopting a select dog or cat for only $50 can visit Valley Animal Center Wednesday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. An online application may also be submitted in advance at www.valleyanimal.org. To view other adoptables, you may head to valleyanimal.org/adoption-info.

2. This year, Valley Animal Center celebrated thirty years in operations, and as a way to pay tribute to its beginnings, the organization is bringing back its annual holiday event, Kitty Christmas, Merry Mutts on December 17 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. At this event, attendees can shop vendors with unique finds, participate in a Christmas tree raffle, and purchase delicious baked goods. Anyone interested in learning more about the organization will have the opportunity to tour the facility and view many of its adoptable dogs and cats. Santa arrives at 3 p.m. and will be available to take photographs for only $10 a print. For more information about the event, including ways to participate, you may head to valleyanimal.org/christmas-2022.

3. Valley Animal Center is wrapping up its thirtieth year of operations. Known as the largest private no-kill shelter in the Central Valley, the organization hopes to raise funds by the end of the year. All funds raised will help them continue serving the community in 2023. In addition to its dog and cat adoption centers, Valley Animal Center offers a low-cost clinic, membership-based dog park and cat club, and affordable dog training. In 2023, they hope to offer grooming services. If you are interested in donating to Valley Animal Center, please do so at valleyanimal.org/donate-now and include “Year-End Gift” in the memo.

Valley Animal Center thanks you for supporting them this year, and they wish you all a happy holiday season!
