WEEKEND RECAP
Vs. New Mexico Mustangs – Selland Arena – Fresno, CA

FRIDAY, 12/3/2010: The Monsters knocked off the New Mexico Mustangs in a thrilling overtime victory by a final score of 4-3. Fresno killed off all 8 Mustangs’ power plays.

SATURDAY, 12/4/2010: The Fresno Monsters completed the series sweep of the New Mexico Mustangs, winning by their largest margin of the season by a final of 6-1.

Fresno Monsters WSHL News:
The Fresno Monsters WSHL team took two of three games against defending league champion Phoenix Polar Bears in Chandler, AZ last weekend. They dropped the first game Friday by a final of 4-2 but won Saturday 8-3 and Sunday 3-2 respectively. The Monsters improved to a season record of 17-4 for 34 points and 2nd place in the Western Division, 9 points behind the 1st place Idaho Jr. Steelheads.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

MIKE COX: Cox had a goal and an assist in both Friday and Saturday’s games last weekend against the New Mexico Mustangs. He also earned the honor of 1st star of the game Friday with his overtime game-winning goal.

NICK INDELICATO: Indelicato had two assists including the assist on the game-winning overtime goal in Friday’s game and one goal in Saturday’s game against the New Mexico Mustangs.

TOM CONLIN: Conlin had an impressive game Saturday night, stopping 33 of 34 New Mexico shots on goal. He also helped the Monsters penalty kill unit stop all 6 Mustangs power play chances. Conlin held New Mexico scoreless for the last 55 minutes of the game. For Conlin’s performance in Saturday’s game he was awarded the NAHL SBK Hockey/Goaltender of the Week.
