When Fritter came to Dianne to be fostered in May, 2014, he was about seven years old and had been an owner turn-in. It was the usual story: children with allergies and he marked in the house under stress. However, Dianne says he is just the sweetest boy and his marking can be managed with belly bands and regular walks.

Fritter

Dianne says Fritter has a great personality. He loves people and enjoys sitting in laps. He is not a possessively one person dog as Chihuahuas can be. He gets along with other dogs and he has fit in well with Dianne’s Cairns. Because he’s so sweet and eager to please, she has thought seriously of keeping him. “He is particularly bonded with my fourteen year old who has lobbied hard for keeping Fritter. But, if I adopt him, that would limit my ability to foster.”

Fritter loves to play and is good at amusing himself by throwing and chasing his toys. He also loves to play tug and prefers furry toys over balls. “I have never seen him be aggressive with people, other dogs, or his toys. The only time I’ve heard him growl is out of fear. He is a rather timid dog, perhaps because of his small size.”

A good home for Fritter would be one with adults looking for a good companion and lap dog. He is fine when crated if his people worked away from home, but he would need snuggle and lap time in the evenings. He would do well in a home with other dogs and older children. He would also be happy with a retired or stay at home person to give him the attention he craves.

Fritter needs a home where his person can take him on regular walks to control his marking tendencies. A handicapped person might not be able to handle walking him and bending down to clean up any accidents. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving boy, Fritter might be the one for you.
