It is always nice when you can do at least some of your shopping in your own town and support local businesses, and sometimes if you live in a bigger city it’s nice to check out some of the offerings of local smaller towns as they may offer something unique and different. This week we are taking a look at some of the places to do your Christmas shopping in Reedley. Christmas tree

Something very unique to Reedley is the Mennonite Quilt Center. giftsThe Nest is sort of a newer Reedley store, though it has taken over a familiar location that once was David’s at 1032-34 G Street. You can also learn more on their Facebook page and watch for a future article here in KRL.

“At the Nest, we offer a stress free local shopping experience full of aromas, sampling gourmet foods, and sipping on our warm mulled cider,” shares Debbie Tingley, Store Manager of The Nest. gift basket

Another newer business in Reedley (at least it is new to me) is Charming Autumns Boutique located at 1027 G St. You can also learn more about them on their Facebook page. Also, keep an eye out for a future KRL article on this charming new place.

“We offer that homey feeling with gift wrapping and one of a kind gifts, says LeeAnn Massey of Charming Autumn. Gift ideas include crosses, unique jewelry, accessories, unique clothing including Habitat, bling sting pepper spray, candles with jewelry inside, and many and much more. “You are sure to find that unique gift for that special person.”

Jacklyn Dee Boutique is another place to find unique gifts and it is located at 1036 G St. More info can be found on their Facebook page.

“The race to complete your Christmas shopping list has begun!” shares Jacklyn Dee. “We here at Jacklyn Dee specialize in helping you check off those hard to shop for people on your list. We are a lifestyle boutique that caters to the work, life, and mamas who are always on the go. Our most popular gift item have been our Adventure Awaits shawl vests that are on sale for $32.00 that will keep the woman who has a long day ahead looking and feeling stylish and chic with comfortable feel. Our unique selection of scarves and coffee mugs will surely help fuel your day starting at only $10.00. When it’s for some TLC, unwind with our collection of luxury bubble baths, bath bombs, lotions and candles. The time is ticking; we can assure that the time you take with us will be well spent as we offer free gift wrapping.”

Another delightful place in Reedley to Christmas shop is Sweet Destination located at 1115 G Street. You can learn more about them on the Facebook page and the KRL article from 2016.business

Currently, all fall items are 25% off. “Shop early,” says Sweet Destination owner Shelly Henderson. “We are very limited on what we can order at this point in the year, so shop early because most retailers cannot order more Christmas merchandise. When it’s gone . . . it’s gone.

Customers should order gift baskets and gift boxes early to ensure getting all the candy, nuts, and chocolates they would like to ship or hand deliver as gifts.”

Children can bring in their letters to Santa, and Sweet Destination will put them in their North Pole mailbox and give them to Santa. Santa will be in their shop on Saturday, December 15, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Families are encouraged to take photos.

Another fun place to check out is Wow! Accessories and More located at 947 G St. You can learn more on their Facebook page and check out our article on the shop in here in KRL.

I hope this helps you in your Christmas shopping this year and I hope you head out to Reedley to check out these unique offerings. You can also find a listing of several Valley Christmas events on KRL’s Christmas event page. For even more holiday fun check out It’s A Wonderful Life opening this weekend at the Reedley Opera House-we will have a review here in KRL later this week.
