Ava is a five-year-old American Pit Bull who is available at Valley Animal Center’s Dog Adoption Center. Ava has gone through quite the journey in her lifetime, and our staff is hoping she’ll find her true forever home soon.

Ava

Ava first came to Valley Animal Center in April of 2016 as a stray out of Orange Cove, abandoned, skinny, and suffering from a severe case of mange. Valley Animal Center rescued Ava, and after some time, she was healthy enough for adoption. Less than a year later, Ava was adopted by what we hoped would be her forever home. Unfortunately, we were wrong.

It was 110 days ago; Valley Animal Center received a phone call from an animal control agency in Arizona. Ava’s adopters abandoned her in the summer heat, hundreds of miles away. Thanks to the gracious donations we received from our community, we were able to retrieve Ava from the animal control agency in Arizona, and return her to safety. After getting back to a healthy weight, and spending some time receiving love from our staff members, Ava is officially ready to be adopted again! pit bull

Ava is very loving, smart, and friendly. She knows “sit” and enjoys the occasional treat. Ava is now searching for her true forever family; if you think that could be you, stop by our Dog Adoption Center to meet her! Like all of our adoptable animals, Ava is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Ava is available for adoption for just $180; the adoption center is open seven-days-a-week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information on Ava, or any of our adoptable animals, please visit our website at valleyanimal.org, or call (559) 233-8690.

Check out more animal rescue stories in our Pet Perspective section & watch for more stories from Feral Paws every other month, and we would love to have you join our KRL Pets Facebook group. Advertise in KRL and 10% of your advertising fees can go to Valley Animal Center.

We also have a new pets newsletter that will be going out every month or two, letting our readers know about all of the pet and animal rescue related articles that went up over that time, so you never miss a thing. This is still a work in progress so I hope you will be patient with us-we are still sorting out exactly what this will all be, and how often it will go out. We also hope to provide some additional content and maybe even some pet related giveaways. You can use this box to subscribe!
