The rock band, Scorpions, rocked the Fresno audience like a hurricane on Friday, October 7, at Save Mart Center. Kings River Life had the privilege of witnessing it. The German rockers have been at it since the early ’70s but achieved their greatest success in the ’80s, but on this night, they proved that they’re still going strong.

It was a high-voltage show, very theatrical, and the members moved about on stage with the same hustle they did when they were younger. Rudolf Schenker, the original founding member, still has it, in shape, and rocking out with his guitar with equal vitality that permeates his entire career. And vocalist, Klaus Meine, has still kept the same voice and can still hit them high notes that he’s known for.

They’re known for such hits such as “Rock You Like A Hurricane,” “No One Like You,” “Big City Nights,” “Still Loving You,” and “Wind of Change,” and those anthems brought a nostalgic factor to the older crowd that grew up with these songs.

The crowd was mostly older, and these songs had sentimental value to those attendees who grew up during the ear of denim and leather and bandanas. There was an 80s vibe, but since these songs, and the band itself is timeless, this was a show that no matter who was in the crowd, everybody had a great time.
