Halloween is right around the corner, and people are decorating with pumpkins, witches, goblins, and black cats. My name is Black Cat, but I’m not “All Black” because I have a white chest and white feet. My cousin cats who are “All Black” have a much tougher time fitting into society. They’re the most likely to be left behind at the shelter because many people think they bring bad luck.

“All Black” cats have been abused and neglected for hundreds of years. They even invented a holiday, called Halloween, specifically to celebrate witches and goblins, and tossed in their prejudice against black cats, calling them witches in disguise and familiars of Satan.

As an almost “All Black” cat, and because my name is Black Cat, I know personally that I bring good luck to my people. Good luck is what my latest book, Black Cat and the Secret in Dewey’s Diary is all about. mystery

Kimberlee had purchased a WWII soldier’s diary for her bookstore. Angel, that’s my soulmate, and I sensed something important in the diary and I pushed it on the floor, right at Kimberlee’s feet. She picked it up and inside was a clue to the location of a treasure in gold coins, missing for over 50 years! Good luck, or what?

Imagine our surprise when she had an opportunity to go to Austria, right where the missing gold was supposed to be hidden.

So here’s the deal. Black Cat and the Clue in Dewey’s Diary is the fourth Black Cat Mystery, and has just been published. It’s a dual story where I narrate my troubles in Fern Lake with the return of a man presumed dead these past 25 years, threats of legal and financial ruin for Kimberlee’s family, vandalism, and intrigue. It’s also about Kimberlee facing her own challenges in Austria, searching for the missing gold, with a stalker right behind, determined to steal the diary and reach the treasure first. Oh my! How could this end well for either of us?

Black Cat and the Clue in Dewey’s Diary is a cool cozy cat mystery filled with history, mystery, riddles, and gold. Toss in an almost “All Black” cat, and you’ll have nothing but good luck when you read the perfect Halloween book.
