Still looking for something special to do on Halloween? Why not head over to Gazebo Gardens in Fresno! On Halloween night they will have a special performance by local band Scats on the Sly. We took a moment to chat with Brian Guerrero Buchheim, event coordinator at Gazebo Gardens, and Mallory Moad of Scats on the Sly, about this event.

KRL: What special plans do you have for Halloween night?

Brian: It will be a spectacular time featuring a howlishly fun band, which is Scats on the Sly, ghoulish brews, and a cornucopia of food to be had.

KRL: Will this even be Halloween themed?

Brian: Of course, it will be Halloween themed decorations will be up and we encourage costumes.

KRL: Have you done events on Halloween before?

Brian: We’ve had a few events for Halloween before, this normally happens when Halloween falls on one of our event nights and we’re open, we are doing it and making it happen.

KRL: What bands will be performing?

Brian: The band that will be performing is one of my favorite bands Scats on the Sly, which brings a really fun and unique experience for all to be had.

KRL: Will there be food available?

Brian: Of course, there will be food available. As with all our events we have several food truck vendors serving some of the best food Fresno has to offer.

KRL: What time does the event take place?

Brian: So our events start at five and end at nine, music starts at six and ends at eight. We are open Thursdays Fridays and Saturdays year round.

KRL: Is there a cost for the event? Do people need to purchase tickets ahead of time?

Brian: There is no cost for our events and there is no need to purchase tickets to come down and have fun at our food truck nights.

KRL: Anything else you would like to add?

Brian: I would like to add come on down have some fun and be sure to check out our website at gazebogardens1922.com for complete lineup of the food trucks for the night.

Interview with Mallory Moad:

KRL: I understand you will be performing a Halloween concert at Gazebo Gardens-will you be doing any special songs to fit the Halloween theme?

Mallory: It’s not really a concert – it’s the weekly Thursday night food truck/live music/beer garden, but with a Halloween twist. We’ll be dusting off the strange-spooky-ooky songs from our repertoire (the ones we save for events like this).

KRL: What are some of the songs you will be doing?

Mallory: Our set list will include Cruella DeVil because if she doesn’t scare you no evil thing will. Mysterious Mose talks about graveyards and haunted houses. We’ll be playing plenty of other trick-or-treat appropriate, family-friendly tunes, bwaaaaaahaaaahaaaaa!

KRL: Will you guys be in costume?

Mallory: I know I will be!

KRL: What would you normally be doing for Halloween?

Mallory: I’d probably be home wishing there were more kids living in my neighborhood. Seems they all had the audacity to grow up!

KRL: Anything you would like to add?

Mallory: This is the first time we’ve played a Halloween show on Halloween and I’m pretty excited. It’s my favorite holiday! I’m hoping everybody – kids, grownups, dogs, – shows up dressed to the nines. That would be the best Halloween treat ever!
