Details at the end of this post on how to win a copy of The Dollhouse in the Crawlspace, along with a link to purchase the book.

The one thing Tennyson Olivia Claxton remembers is that her eyes are green. So why are the ones she sees staring back at her in the mirror brown? As she recovers from a car accident in “The Campus,” Tennyson struggles to remember multiple sets of memories that fade in and out every day. Her doctor, Giles Embry, regiments her every movement and interaction, telling Tennyson that she cannot trust her own thoughts—but that she can trust him. Even in her confused state, Tennyson knows that something is not right with their relationship, especially seeing as she’s apparently his fiancé.

When Tennyson does finally meet the family who had her placed in the treatment center, she learns that she was once the rebellious, irresponsible young heiress of Foxgrove Manor. Falling back into her old life may be an escape from her guilty nightmares and the unease she feels around Giles, but it also means unraveling the truth about her accident, the deaths that seems to surround her, and ultimately the secret of her own identity. book

The author of the Crime of Fashion mystery series here takes a darker turn, but she continues to display the same high quality of writing and plot development. Readers will sense the level of menace and malevolence that emanates from Giles, and is nearly suffocating within the Campus corridors. As uncomfortable as those scenes are, they make Tennyson’s rise to freedom all the more rewarding. Reminiscent of the best of gothic suspense fiction, readers will be thoroughly entertained by Tennyson. Her strong will and even sharper wit ensure that readers will be cheering for Tennyson to break free and discover the truth. That the book starts with such a vulnerable beginning only makes the crafty conclusion all the more satisfying.
