The Reedley College Tigers continued their early season success with a 30-18 win over San Jose City College Saturday night at Reedley High School Stadium.

Saturday’s win comes on the heels of a season opening 48-8 win over Mendocino College on September 5; a game in which sophomore Quarterback Austen Bray (Kingsburg High) threw five touchdown passes to five different receivers. Bray wasn’t quite as prolific in game two, but still, the Tiger offense showed the same flashes of explosiveness we saw last season, when former Tiger quarterback Ernie Rodriguez took over as Offensive coordinator.reedleycollege

Another take away from the San Jose is the fact that Reedley has something this season that they haven’t had in many seasons – at least four quality receivers for Bray to choose from. Terrell McLaughlin and Caleb Horton are back from last season, and they have been joined by two outstanding freshmen – Blayde Moore and Franklin Pannell.

The Tiger defense looks good in the early going as well, so it appears we could be in for a nice rebound season for Reedley College under seventh year head coach Randy Whited.

The Tigers now go on the road for two straight, beginning with a visit to San Pablo and Contra Costa College this Saturday. The Tigers’ next home game will be October 3, when they host Fresno City College in the annual battle for the pump.
