Meet Bridget Jones! She is single and ready to mingle. Our little, lovable, one-eyed tuxedo cat is such a sweet girl, and just like her movie counterpart, she is looking for love!

Bridget Jones

Bridget Jones was rescued by our Executive Director after being severely injured. Upon arriving at our shelter, our cat adoption staff saw that Bridget Jones desperately needed our help. Her right eye was triple the normal size and hanging out of its socket. It was also severely dry and crusted over, making it an old wound. Bridget Jones was sent straight to our clinic for surgery!vac

Our veterinarian looked at the wound and decided that we had to remove Bridget Jones’ eye in order to save her life. When the eye was removed, our clinic staff noticed that there was a BB pellet all the way at the very back of her eye socket. She was extremely lucky that the shot had not killed her, as the pellet was lodged so close to her skull. We have no idea why someone would want to shoot sweet Bridget Jones, but we’re happy that she is safe now and has fully recovered from her surgery. She is also adapting well to life with just one eye.

Despite her traumatic past, Bridget Jones has remained sweet and loving towards people. Bridget Jones is only about 18 months old, so she’s got a lot of life left to live. She would make an amazing addition to any family that is willing to give her lots of love! Let’s help Bridget Jones rewrite her diary from tragic to magic!

Bridget Jones is currently up for adoption, and she truly is such a wonderful cat! Until she finds a forever home, we’ll continue to care for her at the Valley Animal Center. As a community-supported no-kill shelter, we greatly appreciate all donations to continue the work that we do to help animals like Bridget Jones. Supporters like you help us provide food, shelter, and medical care for pets living at our facility until they are adopted into a loving family.
