“Phil, what have you done?”

Phil turned from his brother’s body to face his wife of twenty long years.

“I shot him dead.”

“Why, Phil? Why?”

“Because he lied. I saw his tell.”

“His tell? God, what are you talking about?”scratch

Lenore pushed past him and knelt at Steven’s side. She felt his neck in a futile cause, especially considering the way the blood was pooling out from underneath the body.

“You’ve been cheating on me with him. I asked him and he denied it before scratching his arm. That’s his tell. It’s how I beat him in poker.”

“You idiot! Steven had a flu shot yesterday. That’s why he was scratching.”

Phil’s gun roared again and Lenore fell over dead thanks to the hole in the center of her forehead.

“So, why did you keep tugging your earlobe, Lenore?”

He knew her new studs couldn’t be the answer.
