Miri Meadow, called Mayzee by her foster mom Sheron, is about twelve years old and is a petite girl at about ten pounds.

Sheron says Mayzee is very sweet. She follows Sheron everywhere, always looking up at her. Although Col. Potter Rescue doesn’t know a lot about her background, Sheron guesses she was picked up on the street either having gotten lost or discarded by previous owners. She is afraid of loud noises and suffers from separation anxiety.

When Mayzee first came to Sheron, she was nervous and often shook. Sheron has been working with her and says she is getting better adjusting to Sheron and her two dogs.

Mayzee

Mayzee has some minor health problems. She is missing almost all her teeth, and she has a hole in her gum. The hole must be watched as food can gather in it and then affects her sinuses. When this happens, Mayzee makes snorting noises. Despite being a senior dog, her hearing and eyesight are good. Although lacking teeth, Mayzee has a good appetite for the soft food that Sheron feeds her.

Mayzee is an easy dog. Everyone she meets is her friend. She walks well on a leash and is not aggressive towards other dogs. She does not wander off but a fenced-in yard would be a good idea for this sun worshipper. At first, Mayzee would only potty in her own yard and not on walks. However, Sheron says she is getting better about that. She is afraid of car rides, but she is getting better at that as well.

Mayzee is not interested in playing with Sheron’s dogs, but she does have a favorite squeaky toy. No one is quite sure what the toy represents but that doesn’t matter to Mayzee. But, Sheron has not given up hoping that she will learn to play with other dogs.

Mayzee is part terrier and part Chihuahua. She sheds a lot so Sheron keeps her coat cut short. She is a loving girl who loves to sleep on the bed. Sheron calls her the Bed Potato. She also loves to hang out in Sheron’s yard soaking up the sun.

Mayzee is looking for a home with someone who will cuddle with her and spend time with her. She could be an only dog or with another dog that was not aggressive. She would not do well in an apartment as she enjoys being outside in the sun. Sheron’s yard is small, and that is all Mayzee needs.

Mayzee is a sweet, easy girl who would make a great companion with an older or stay-at-home person.
