Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno shares with us every other month about their rescue dogs.
First, we have Hawkeye, a yellow male, approximately 2-years old, 65 pounds, whose wonky ears give him away as a Lab mix. According to his foster, in his heart he identifies as a true Lab. He loves snuggling with his people, fetching, playing with his pack-mates, long walks, and, of course, treats! Hawkeye may be a just a little bit slow to warm up to new people, but once you show him you are trustworthy, he will quickly bond with newcomers. He is an energetic fellow and does have prey drive (chickens are a definite NO!), so prospective adopters need to be aware of that. He really is a good boy, and we hope to find his forever home soon.
Second, we have Duke, a male yellow Lab, 7-years old and 70 pounds. Don’t let his age discourage you from applying for this guy. He has plenty of energy and pep in his step. He’s ready to be your hiking or jogging partner for sure. Because Duke gets pretty excited and over-stimulated when meeting new dogs, we think his ideal home is one where he is the only dog so he can have all the attention. With people, he is affectionate and eager to please. He’s a very happy boy, especially when he has a stuffed toy in his mouth.
Both Hawkeye and Duke have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and are ready to find their forever families. If you are looking for that perfect addition to your family, one that will be by your side anytime, day or night, and is up for sharing your adventures, please complete an application online at labrescuefresno.org.
If you are interested in joining the great group of volunteers at the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, check out our website at labrescuefresno.org for more information. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, are 100% foster-based, and are run completely by volunteers. We are in urgent need of more fosters at this critical time when many dogs and cats are being euthanized because shelters are overflowing.
If you can’t adopt or foster, but you would still like to help, please consider making a tax-deductible donation via PayPal at our website, or by mail to Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, P. O Box 1484, Clovis, CA 93613. Our veterinary bills have been higher than usual because several dogs needed special medical care, so monetary donations are greatly appreciated. Of course, the rescue also provides all food and other supplies needed by our dogs in foster care. We have an Amazon Wishlist if you would like to place an order there and it will be delivered directly to us. We greatly appreciate and need your support to continue saving these great dogs.
