The newest addition to the Matchmaker Mysteries series of movies is A Fatal Romance starring Danica McKellar as Matchmaker Angie Dove, Victor Webster as Detective Kyle Cooper, and Bruce Boxleitner as Angie’s Dad, a retired cop.

The Matchmaker Mysteries series is set in Philadelphia where Angie Dove is an accomplished Matchmaker who has her own TV show. While serving as a panelist at a romance book convention, she becomes entangled in the murder of a prominent author who had a lot of secrets to keep. Angie gets involved when her ex-boyfriend, the CEO of the murdered author’s publishing company, becomes the prime suspect in the murder. What about the disgruntled fan who was escorted out of the conference? Could there be more to her written and verbal threats? Can Angie track her down to question her? Then we have the author’s sister and assistant. What secrets is she harboring? We also have the estranged husband of the author. Is he telling the truth about not being involved in the murder or is his alibi just empty air? With all the suspects, can Angie and Kyle narrow it down to the real murderer?Hallmark Mystery

This was a very well done production. The two stars have a lot of chemistry, and the supporting cast really pulls the movie together. The murder plot is well crafted and will keep you guessing right to the surprising ending. I really enjoyed this movie and series. I highly recommend it to all mystery fans.

A new addition to the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries Series is Heist and Seek. Candace Cameron Bure stars as librarian Aurora Teagarden and Niall Matter as her boyfriend and college professor Nick Miller.

When a valuable and historical jeweled head piece is stolen at the opening of a museum exhibit, Aurora, Nick, and their friends become entangled in the theft. The crown disappears from its guarded stand right in front of all the guests. How did it disappear from the exhibit and leave the room without being seen by anyone? As the investigation develops, the bodies start to stack up. The security guards come under suspicion as do several of the guests and museum employees. The investigation takes lots of twists and turns as the crew digs deeper into the disappearance and subsequent murders. Can they uncover the truth and recover the jewels before the head piece disappears into the black market of Elizabethan artifacts? And what question is Nick painstakingly, often interrupted, trying to ask Aurora?

This is a tried and true cast that never fails to deliver a great performance. I really enjoy how they all work together to entertain us. The mystery and murder plots are well developed and will keep your attention right to the startling ending. I highly recommend this new addition to the Aurora Teagarden series. The series is really well executed and provides lots of entertainment.
