However, when one of their members disappears, the Survivors become sleuths.

Ellen Byron sweeps you away to New Orleans with Bayou Book Thief. Only twenty-eight, Ricki James becomes a widow after her husband does a stupid Internet stunt. She decides to leave Los Angeles and head for home. There she joins the staff of the Bon Vee Culinary House Museum in the Garden District.

Because she collects vintage cookbooks, she decides to open a gift shop. But a donated box of books also contains the body of a recently fired employed. Lisa Richardson and her fiancé have moved into a historic cottage on Nags Head Beach in North Carolina. Lucy is busy working in the Bodie Island Lighthouse Library, planning her wedding and decorating the new home. The house is supposedly haunted, so is it any surprise that Lucy, her beau, and Charles the cat find a body in the kitchen? This is ninth in the Lighthouse Library Mysteries by Eva Gates (aka Vicki Delaney).

The North Carolina coast seems to be a great vacation spot. That’s where Victoria Gilbert sets her Booklover’s B&B mysteries. In Beaumont, Charlotte Reed books guests for a book club retreat. The theme is fairy tales and children’s classics. But when a guest is poisoned at the Mad Hatter’s tea party, Charlotte realizes she’s fallen down the rabbit hole. The victim was a woman who sold questionable, possibly stolen, items at her jewelry store. Many of the other guests had a motive to close the book on the lady. Can there be a happy ending? A Fatal Booking is the third in the series.
