Details at the end of this post on how to enter to win a copy of The Diva Delivers on a Promise by Krista Davis, mentioned in a past Coming Attractions column.

You’ve dieted since Christmas to get that beach bod, so now it’s time to laze around, munch on cookies and clams, and dive into a fun mystery. Bring on the sunscreen!

Mentored by Sherlock Holmes, Timothy Badger and Benjamin Watson are taking on their first case. It’s Victorian London, 1895, and a man is brutally stabbed during a séance. Sherlock recommends the team find out why the victim was desperately trying to contact his dead business partner. Turns out many in the man’s household had reason to see him dead. The Isolated Séance is the first in Jeri Westerson’s Irregular Detectives Mysteries.

Get out your oven mitts for Debra Sennefelder’s hot, new Cookie Shop mysteries. Wingate, Connecticut, is one of the top ten shopping destinations in the state. It’s also the home of Mallory Monroe’s Cookie Shop. But all is not well in the kitchen. Her two employees are a disaster, she caught her boyfriend cheating, and she was seen having a fight with a food blogger. To top it off, the blogger is found dead with a flour outline of her body and a bloody rolling pin nearby. The title says it all: How the Murder Crumbles.

A Misfortune Cookie also crumbles when manager Lana Lee and her sister head to a restaurant convention in Irvine, California. They are representing Ho-Lee Noodle House, the family restaurant. Their aunt invites them to stay in her posh rental. At the convention, Lana witnesses a catfight between a fortune cookie vendor and a journalist. Later, at her aunt’s cocktail party, the journalist mysteriously plunges from the hotel roof. This is the ninth Noodle Shop mystery by Vivien Chien.

Another family-owned business, the Snowden Family Clambake Company, is an institution in Busman’s Harbor, Maine. But it’s not business as usual when Julia Snowden and her mother attend a memorial service of a friend who disappeared five years ago and is now officially declared dead. But they smell something fishy and aren’t about to clam up. Hidden Beneath is the eleventh Clambake Mystery by Barbara Ross.
