Book 5 in my A Spooky Games Club Mystery series, Vampires and Video Games, releases this week! The e-book is exclusive to Amazon (free to read with Kindle Unlimited) and the paperback version is available widely, in addition to a large print version.

Luna Lane’s witches, werewolves, and vampires welcome you to the Spooky Games Club—in which even the winners could find themselves six feet under.

A Spooky Games Club Mystery series was my first attempt at writing witchy cozy mystery, a genre that’s been such a blast for me to play around with. I love the cozy, small town atmosphere so many mysteries offer up—the kind of homey place where you wish you could move, if there weren’t so darn many murders there. Add a dash of magic and the paranormal, and I’m off to a fantasy land where the creepy and spooky are sure to offer up a fright—though nothing that’s too scary.

My small town of Luna Lane is home to a cursed witch, a trio of pub-owning vampires, a family of café-operating werewolves, a mayor mummy, and a man-eating fashionista spiderwoman, to name a few of its residents. Of course, there are plenty of human neighbors, too, including a visiting professor who catches my amateur sleuth witch’s eye. (Though her gorgeous, hotheaded vampire ex-boyfriend is certainly jealous.) Most popular of all among my readers is Broomie, witch Dahlia’s enchanted broomstick, who’s a cat reborn as a living broomstick on her tenth and final (bonus) life.

If that isn’t enough to get your attention, the theme of the series is games of all kinds. Paranormal and human residents alike create a Games Club in the first book, and in each subsequent adventure, a type of game plays a crucial role in a murder mystery. Books so far have featured board games, escape rooms, playing cards, crosswords, and now video games. Because there’s magic involved, these games aren’t like the ones you’ll find in real life. There’s a certain added element of danger when one’s life is on the line in an escape room, for example—or when zapped into a video game as a pixelized version of yourself!

Though each book features a self-contained mystery, it’s best to start at the beginning, as the recurring characters go through some growth over time. To celebrate the release of Book 5 in the series, I’m offering a signed paperback (standard or large print) copy of the first book, Broomsticks and Board Games, to one lucky U.S. winner! (Details on how to enter below.)

Thanks for having me on the blog again! I hope you’ll consider taking a look at my books.
