It’s hard to believe but Kings River Life will be celebrating its 15th birthday on May 29, 2025! When my friend Dorian Rhodes and I came up with the idea all those years ago it was really just a whim. Something fun to see if we could do while I was looking for a new job. We never would have guessed it would not only still be around 15 years later, but that it would grow into what it is now and still be going strong!

A few years into this journey, Dorian had to step away due to health reasons, but it never would have gotten off the ground without her. It also never would have kept going all these years without all of the many volunteers who have “walked” through our virtual office doors during these 15 years–writers, reviewers, editors, web designers, and then all of you wonderful readers who give us a reason to keep doing this. We also owe much to all of our advertisers, those who have donated, and our Patreon supporters, because even though all of the staff is volunteer, there are still bills to be paid. 
Our mission statement since the beginning still remains mostly the same-Our mission is to entertain, inspire, and inform a global community with a unique variety of articles that provide something of interest for everyone, while supporting the arts, literature, charities, mental health, small local businesses, and animal rescue. I would add that we also feel strongly about supporting the LGBTQ+ community in any way that we can–especially during these troubling times.
BIG GIVEAWAYS!
Now on to the fun part! Since mystery novels are a large part of what we do each week we have 2 big giveaways that you can enter. You can enter to win 15 print copies of the books listed below, or 15 ebook copies of 15 books different than those in our print giveaway (all mysteries). While you can enter both giveaways, you can only win one of them. We will pick the winners on June 1, 2025–details on how to enter at the bottom of this post. While the main giveaways are for US only we also have a special giveaway just for those outside the US!
Thanks to all of you for being a part of our journey and to all of these wonderful mystery authors for donating their books for this celebration giveaway! Originally, I had intended to include book descriptions for each book, but that was before the total became 30 books/authors! So instead, we will list the titles and include a link to the author’s websites where you can learn more about all of their books. We have quite the selection–a lot of cozies, but also some thrillers and suspense as well.
Print book giveaway: (most of these are paperbacks, but there are a few hardbacks and a few bonuses items provided by the authors. There are also a few cases where one author is giving away a group of books but we are still counting their donation as 1 item-this is the case in the ebook giveaway as well).

You can also enter by commenting below but be sure to state if you are entering for the print books or the ebook ones.
A winner will be chosen June 1, 2025. U.S. residents only for the print giveaway, US and Canada only for the ebook giveaway, and you must be 18 or older to enter. If entering for the print copies via email please include your mailing address in case you win. You can read our privacy statement here if you like.
