Marmaduke is a five-year-old Staffordshire Terrier who came to Valley Animal Center in November of 2016. With his constant smile, friendly attitude, and high energy he quickly became a staff favorite at our shelter.

Marmaduke spent over a year at a high euthanization shelter in Los Angeles. He was rescued and surrendered to Valley Animal Center by a private donor. We are very thankful that Marmaduke’s great personality caught the attention of this donor before it was too late.

Since his arrival, Marmaduke has been working with our trainers and is doing very well. He loves spending time in our dog park and can often be seen running off his excess energy in the afternoon. He is toy-motivated, and loves to play fetch with our staff and volunteers, though he occasionally forgets to give the ball back.vac

Marmaduke would be great with an active family. He is dog- and kid-friendly, and, although he is very curious around cats, his curiosity is not aggressive in nature. He would be a terrific dog for a family that could take him on walks, visit the park, and has a yard for him to play in.

One of Marmaduke’s features that is immediately noticeable is his cropped ears. This is an unfortunate practice that, when done incorrectly and left untreated can cause health problems for dogs. Luckily, Marmaduke has no lasting bad effects from his ear cropping.

Like all of our adoptable animals, Marmaduke has been neutered, is up-to-date on his vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. Call our Dog Adoption Center or come in to visit Marmaduke for information on his special adoption fee. If you would like more information about any of our adoptable animals, please call or visit Valley Animal Center. Our cat and dog adoption centers are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
