This month I pull a few rabbits out of the hat and offer six cozies with recipes. What’s in your Easter Basket? (some were released in March and some in April)

It’s time to make hot cross buns at The Cookie Jar in Lake Eden, Minnesota. Hannah Swensen is up to her ears in Easter orders in this twenty-seventh Hannah Swensen mystery by Joanne Fluke. However, when her sister calls to say she is the prime suspect in the murder of the mayor, Hannah drops her mixer and gets mixed up in find the real killer. Triple Chocolate Cheesecake Murder features over a dozen cookie and dessert recipes from The Cookie Jar.

Everyone in Harvest, Ohio, has gathered at the town gazebo for a baby shower. Although it’s not an Amish tradition, Emily is the assistant at Bailey King’s Swissmen Sweets and Bailey wants to be supportive. But an Amish woman confronts Emily and claims she was pregnant as a teen and gave the baby up for adoption, and later, the woman is found dead in Esh Family Pretzels. Lemon Drop Dead is the sixth Amish Candy Ship Mystery by Amanda Flower. Recipes included.

Take time for a little Wining and Dying at the Cookbook Nook in Crystal Cove, California. Books and food are a fine pairing, as is an Art and Wine Festival. Jenna Hart has a painting to enter, but when an artist is murdered, her excitement is gone. Evidence points to a good friend, so Jenna is on the hunt for a killer. It might be a tech guru, the Mayor’s son or an older art teacher. This is the tenth Cookbook Nook mystery by Daryl Wood Gerber, who also includes recipes.

It’s all sugar and spice at the Cookie House in Coral Cay, Florida. Pastry chef Kate McGuire is enjoying her sweet life, which only gets better when a friend wants her to bake a wedding cake. But the cookie crumbles as a reality show is set to film on the island and the groom goes missing. Cold feet? Kate doesn’t think so in A Tale of Two Cookies, the third Cookie House mystery by Eve Calder.

Meanwhile at Melbourne Beach, another island in Florida, Liz Holt is busy running the family’s Indialantic by the Sea Hotel. Archaeologists are staying there to study Spanish explorers. When they stumble across a valuable find at the site, but before they can unearth is, one of the scientists is found buried in the sand, pierced with a diving spear tipped with poison. With the help of her P.I. boyfriend and two parrots, Liz has to solve the mystery. Buried by the Sea is the fifth By the Sea Mystery by Kathleen Bridge. Recipes included.

Why not do a murder mystery-themed wedding reception? That’s what caterer Marygene Brown thinks in the third in a series by Kate Young. What’s worse, the groom is her childhood sweetheart. But the Peach Diner in Peach Cove, Georgia, needs the business. While Marygene has to swallow her pride, her mother’s ghost has no such restrictions. The bride was disliked by the town. When she’s found beside the wedding cake, dead and buried in batter, the game is over. Then the bride’s body simply vanishes. It’s all Southern Sass and a Battered Bride, plus seven recipes.

It’s Murder 101 in this Kitchen Witch novella by Lynn Cahoon. Mia Malone has opened a catering business in Magic Springs, Idaho. She’s landed a job catering a class reunion. It’s being held in an old school purported to be haunted. No problem since Mia has inherited the magic that runs in the family. The party planning goes south when the head of the reunion committee is found murdered in one of the classrooms. Turns out she was a mean girl—could someone be harboring a grudge? With magic wits and her family, Mia must solve the mystery. Recipes included.
