Paul and Alice have decided to be married in Kilbane, a small Irish town. Any wedding is cause for excitement, but when the bride is Alice, a famous fashion model, that ups the excitement factor to a frenzy.
Unfortunately, the bridal party isn’t getting along. Brenna is the maid of honor and honestly, why did Alice pick her? She’s snarky, a trouble maker, and more. Kevin is the best man, or at least he was until Paul had to “fire” him and select someone else. Kevin is a bit too fond of the bottle and during the course of the evening, pinched the mother of the bride’s behind, hit on the maid of honor, hinted he knew Paul’s secrets, and more that even he can’t remember.
Kevin as best man is a moot point once his body is found, bashed on the head with a big rock. Now, was he the target or was it a case of mistaken identity? Kevin is not known for getting up early, and the whole bridal party is wearing matching blue track suits so it could go either way. 
Siobhan O’Sullivan is in the middle of it all. The café she and her siblings inherited from their parents might end up hosting the reception—that is if the father of the bride doesn’t get his way. He wants to cancel the wedding until his daughter comes to her senses and realizes Paul isn’t good enough for her. Alice is determined to go through with it.
There are secrets by the handful. Brenna slept in her own room but not alone. Kevin had a few secrets of his own. Siobhan’s new boyfriend, Macdara, is a member of the garda (police) and a member of the wedding party. Siobhan manages to insert herself into the investigation much to his dismay.
This is the second book in the Irish Village Mystery series, and Siobhan is gaining confidence quickly. She’s no longer coasting along, trying to take care of the family but looking to what she really wants out of life. Her romance with Macdara is sweet, although he is often irritated at her insistence on being included in the case. Her brothers and sisters are also showing their own quirks and qualities.
The mystery has plenty of suspects to choose from and a murderer not easily discovered. The Irish background is a character itself as Siobhan describes ancient buildings and the history of the town for the visitors. Readers will want this to be a long running series in order to keep up with Siobhan and the rest of the O’Sullivans.

This is a terrific series and this book is a prime example of how well Ms O’Connor develops a mystery.

I love the cover art and I love Ireland. I had the chance to spend a few weeks there last year and I traveled the whole country, Northern Ireland too. I really left a piece of my heart there. Would love to win this book. Reading it would take me back again.
It sounds like fun especially since it’s a setting (Ireland) that I usually don’t have a chance to ‘visit!’
