Mona Lisa is a two-and-a-half year old white and brown female Siberian Husky mix. She came to us at Valley Animal Center a brand new mom, with her litter of seven puppies who were just four-days old. She was rescued by Fresno Humane Animal Services who called us, so we could provide the extended care needed for her and her pups.
Mona Lisa was a great mom; with the help of our staff, she nursed and cared for all seven of her puppies. Once her puppies could be weaned, Mona Lisa was given her own room in our perpetual care facility where she could recover and receive the healthcare she needed.
All seven of her puppies were spayed and neutered and have since found their forever homes. Now Mona Lisa is patiently waiting on our adoption floor until she finds her new home as well. Unfortunately, “Mona” is often overlooked because she is so shy and timid. However, once a person builds trust with her, they see what a wonderful companion she would make.
Mona would do best in a home with previous Husky experience. She would need an active family that has older children if present. Mona is also selective about the dogs she gets along with. If other pets are present, we would require a meet and greet in our private room at our facility.
If you would like more information about Mona Lisa or any of our adoptable animals, please call or visit the Valley Animal Center. Our cat and dog adoption centers are open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.! All of our animals have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccinations, and are micro-chipped as well!
You can also support Mona Lisa and all the cats and dogs Valley Animal Center cares for by attending any of our upcoming events. The entire month of March is our annual Pennies 4 Pets Change Collection! Donate your spare change, an in-kind donation item, or attend our Dine-and-Donate event at Buffalo Wild Wings on Friday, March 16. You can find more information at Valley Animal Center Facebook page.
Editor’s note: Mona Lisa was just adopted!
