Details on how to win a copy of Ripoff by Morgan St. James and Caroline Rowe at the end of this post.

California’s much needed rain is not dampening excitement for LCC Monterey. Here are more of the authors to look for at the event:

NYPD Det. Max(ine) Maguire’s assignment is to protect a wine critic who received a death threat. When the woman is killed, Max must team up with a French official she fell for while solving a murder in Champagne. Welcome to the dark side of international wine trading with Bordeau: The Bitter Finish, the 2nd in Janet Hubbard’s Vengeance in the Vineyard mysteries. The book comes out April 1. Salute!

Cameron Flaherty is new at organic farming. When a killer strikes on her property in Westbury, Mass., Cam has to get her hands dirty and dig up secrets. A Tine To Live, A Tine To Die is the first in the Local Foods Mysteries by Edith Maxwell.

The astrologer in me is interested in Ann Parker’s Mercury’s Rise. In the fourth Silver Rush Mystery, we’re back again in the silver-rich hills of Leadville, Colorado. Inez Stannet takes a stagecoach on what becomes a ride full of danger. Ann is the winner of the Bruce Alexander Memorial Historical Mystery Award, the Agatha, a finalist for the Colorado Book Award and a Macavity Nominee.

Another astrology title has caught my interest: Daco Auffeorarde’s The Libra Affair, a Crimson Romance e-book. Jordan Jakes is intent on launching a missile in Iran and not even her NASA scientist boyfriend (and target) can stop her. Does the fate of the world hinge on their love? Heaven knows!

Anastasia Devlin is the Undercover Genius for her eccentric family. Living on the third floor is the “spy in the attic” holding the mansion ransom. This is the second in The Family Genius series by Patricia Rice. Patricia is new at mystery conventions so make sure to make her feel welcome at LCC!

Freelance writer Troy Chance is taking photos at the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival when an ice-enclosed body is uncovered. She knows the man and ultimately discovers secrets and glimpses of what might have been. A Cold and Lonely Place is the second in the series by Sara J. Henry. Brr!

Winner of the first book give-away was Cheryl Stoeser. Congratulations and happy reading!

NEWLY RELEASED

It’s all about Desperate Deeds in the third of Pat Gligor’s Malone series featuring interior decorator Ann Kern. When a wealthy woman contacts her, it seems like a dream job. But should the woman’s strange interest in a photo of her six year old son send up warning signs? Desperate indeed!

Death Comes In Threes for PI Sandi Webster. A man she sent to prison has killed a guard and made his escape. Now he’s coming after Sandi. This is number six in the series by author Marja McGraw.

How does one become a soulless killer? That’s the question authors Wayne Block and Gregory Denaro address in The Scorpion’s Tale. When a mother and child are collateral damage during an assassination, only revenge will bring redemption. The e-book is highlighted in this month’s publication of International Thriller Writers Association.
