Info at the end of this post on how to win copies of 3 mystery novels by previously featured authors!

With Calamari Crime just three weeks away, here are more authors planning to attend, books in hand:

It’s Molly MacRae’s first LCC and she’ll be joining her brother Andrew in the festivities. She’s launching the third book in the Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery series, Spinning In Her Grave. Kath Rutledge’s Weaver’s Cat fabric store comes with gloomy ghost Geneva in residence. When the local baker get murdered during the annual historical festival in Blue Plum, TN, it’s up to Kath, the TGIF knitting group and ghost Geneva to find the killer. Don’t leave us hanging by a thread! (PS: Molly is the winner of the 2013 Lovey Award and Suspense Magazine Best of 2012)

Andrew MacRae is a mixed bag: short story writer, poet, engineer and studied theatre. When a pickpocket perilously picks the wrong pocket (say that tongue twister three times), the FBI and a killer believe he snatched a fortune in diamonds. Not so—but who’s going to believe a crook? Murder Misdirected is not only a good read; it will teach you how to pick the pockets of family and friends. Better watch your wallet at LCC!

Narc detectives Dix and Peterson just wanted to do some fishing in the Bahamas. When their guide’s boat, Gray Ghost, is sunk and the guide killed, a hundred million dollars of cocaine is left on the ocean floor. This mystery by C.L. Swinney will hook you!

Death checks in at the Sapphire Silver Pines Resort in Orlando in Marta Chausee’s Murder’s Last Resort. VIPs are being murdered and Maya French, a cop’s daughter and wife of the manager, is up to her diamond earrings in suspects. This is the first in an exciting new series.

LAUNCHING IN MARCH

Not all criminals are behind prison bars—some are running the prison! In Morgan St. James and Caroline Rowe’s novel Ripoff, three savvy women uncover fraud and stolen money from prison manufactured wares.

At first the small arson fires popping up in a rural Pennsylvania town seem like pranks. But after one person dies in the flames, former police chief Sticks Hetrick and Officer Flora Vastine must face dangerous people from their past. A Burning Desire is the sixth in the series from John Lindermuth.

OUT NOW!

You know the house—the one you hurry past with a nervous glance. In Santa Cruz, it’s called The Murder House. 20 years ago two people were murdered and the killer never caught. Can real estate agent Regan McHenry sell the haunted house? Can she solve the crime? This is the fifth in the series by Nancy Lynn Jarvis. Spooktacular!

Danae Holloway is arrested for a murder of a man she’s never met or heard of. But witnesses saw her leave the scene covered with blood and her fingerprints left on the murder weapon. Proof of Identity is a paranormal/suspense stand-alone by Susan Tuttle.

The peaceful town of Wheeler, Texas, is in for trouble when a journalist comes to do a feature on small towns. Her questions and questionable interest in a high school athlete chaffs Kate, but to the point of murder? Recipes are included in Murder At the Tremont House, a Blue Plate Cafe Mystery by Judy Alter. The e-book is out now, with a print version to follow.

You can enter to win copies of 4 of the books mentioned in past Coming Attractions Columns-an e-book copy of Dying For A Daquiri by Cindy Sample, a print copies of One Minute Gone by David Hansard & Dance the Dream Awake by Cora Ramos, & an e-book copy of Havanna Lost by Libby Fischer Hellman, by sending an email KRL at krlcontests@gmail[dot]com by replacing the [dot] with a period, and with the subject line “Part 4,” or comment on this article. the more I read these capsules about LCC this month, the more I wish I could go. I haven’t been to one for a couple of years because of financial concerns and wish I would be there.
