Ever wonder what awaits a singing/dancing starlet in the city of Los Angeles? Aspiring singer Ali (Christina Aguilera) discovers the world of Burlesque in her pursuit of fame and fortune. In search of somewhere she can flaunt her operatic voice, Ali stumbles into a nightclub designated for dancers where she is hired as a waitress. It is there she begins to explore the world of Burlesque. After forcing her way into the business and working up the ranks, she learns the true art, and begins to show her voice’s full potential.

Other well known names in this movie include Cher, who plays Tess, a retired dancer and owner of the nightclub, who struggles to keep the aging theater alive against financial and artistic challenges.

Although Burlesque has been trashed by many reviewers, it did win a Golden Globe. This stunning musical is the perfect portrayal of love, hard work, and following your dreams. With the soundtrack to match, this movie should surely be awarded 5 stars.

Burlesque becomes available on DVD on March 1.

Rated PG-13 for sexual content including several suggestive dance routines, partial nudity, language and some thematic material.
