WEEKEND RECAP
vs. Kenai River Brown Bears – Selland Arena – Fresno, CA
WEDNESDAY, 1/26/2011: The Monsters started the three- game series off with a loss to the Kenai River Brown Bears with a final score of 4-2. Fresno held Kenai scoreless for 6 of 7 power play opportunities.
FRIDAY, 1/28/2011: The Monsters rolled to a victory over Kenai River winning by a final score of 5-3. Fresno was 1 for 2 on the power play.
SATURDAY, 1/29/2011: In the final game of the series the Monsters saw 3,000 fans in the building for FFA/4-H/Ag night, but Fresno fell to the Kenai River Brown Bears by a final score of 6-3.
WSHL Monsters News: The Monsters swept the three-game series with the San Diego Gulls last weekend by final scores of 4-3, 4-0, and 2-1 respectively. Fresno wrapped up the season series with a record of 5-1 over the Gulls. Fresno remains in 2nd place with a record of 29-6-2 for 60 points, 5 points behind the 1st place Idaho Jr. Steelheads.
PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
RILEY BORER: Borer notched one goal and one assist in Friday night’s game. He was awarded the 2nd Star of the Game for his efforts against the Kenai River Brown Bears.
JEFFREY ANDERSON: Anderson scored his first goal of the season on Wednesday against the Kenai River Brown Bears at Selland Arena.
MIKE COX: Cox had an impressive four-point weekend against the Kenai River Brown Bears recording one assist on Wednesday, two assists on Friday, and one goal and 3rd Star of the Game honors on Saturday.

Fresno’s Hess & Pauluk Selected for NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Michigan
Fresno, Calif. – Fresno Monsters’ forward Willie Hess and defenseman Jeffrey Pauluk have been selected for the North American Hockey League’s 2011 Top Prospects Tournament to be held from February 20-22 at the Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Hess and Pauluk will represent the Monsters on Team West.
At the event, four teams – Team Central, Team North, Team South, and Team West – will play a three-game round robin. Each team consists of a 20-man roster, with minor player crossover amongst the four teams.
Team West will play Team Central on Sunday, February 20 at 4:30pm P.S.T., Team North on Monday, February 21 at 12:30pm P.S.T., and Team South on Tuesday, February 22 at 6:00am P.S.T. All games can be seen live on fasthockey.com.
Fresno Monsters Watch Party Tomorrow Night at Mother Mary’s in Clovis
Fresno, Calif. – The Fresno Monsters will be hosting a watch party tomorrow, February 4th at Mother Mary’s Italian Kitchen. The puck drops at 6:00pm P.S.T. Mother Mary’s is located in Clovis on the northeast corner of Willow and Nees. Fans are encouraged to come out to cheer on the NAHL Monsters as they take on the Dawson Creek Rage in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada. Select WSHL Fresno Monsters coaches and players will be on hand to watch the game and greet fans.
