Over the years, Instagram has made a name for itself and has proven to be, by far, the most popular social media app around. On Instagram, you will not only find people entertaining, or looking for entertainment, but also businesses looking for opportunities or marketing, especially because it is very easy to stand out from the crowd when you’re using certain tools and growth services like those found on Earthweb. Of course, there are many other ways to market your content, and using hashtags is one of them. However, sometimes it can be tough to find the right ones. Here is the hashtags guide for Instagram.

Use them in the comments
Hashtags are much more than just simple keywords that you can add to your posts. They can be added to all sorts of different things, including your comments. When using hashtags, most people will just include them in their posted content as a way to get others to see it, however, by adding them in the comments you can do so much more.

Not only will you be able to get the post seen in the hashtags section, but by posting hashtags in the comment section, especially if they are branded hashtags, you great a lot more brand awareness around your account.

Many people look at the comments of posts and this is a great way to make yourself much more noticeable.

Not too many
The next tip on our hashtag guide for Instagram is not to use too many hashtags. It is easy to get caught up in the idea of getting millions of people to be able to see your content by posting all of the most popular ones that you can find. But this rarely works.

When using hashtags in your posts, you should try to limit yourself to 4 or 5 per post, maximum. This way you don’t come across as desperate or needy, and you don’t annoy your audience, but you will still get all of the benefits of using hashtags in your content.

Spamming hashtags will never work as well as you hope so there is no point in wasting your time looking for hundreds to add to your next post.

Make your own hashtags

When it comes to posting hashtags in your content, many people believe they are restricted to the ones that are already existing. While, yes, it’s beneficial to use already popular or already created hashtags, you won’t lose out by using some of your own created hashtags.

Making your own hashtags won’t necessarily help you grow your account, but it will rather help you keep track of your analytics, as well as even help you when it comes to launching giveaways, or even hosting competitions for your followers and other users.

It is a great way to know what is happening with your audience and see who you are reaching effectively. This kind of knowledge can also help you change and adjust your content so that it is more suited to the audience that you are reaching.

Different types
Last but not least, there are so many different types of hashtags to choose from, and before you get started, you should know a little bit about each of them and how they can benefit your account whether you are a business or just an individual.

There are hashtags such as community hashtags, branded hashtags, campaign hashtags, trending hashtags, and so much more, and they are all exactly what they sound like. Some are better for businesses than others, and some are great when it comes to reaching a target audience. You just need to know exactly who you are targeting and who you are trying to reach. From there you can decide what hashtags to use to effectively reach this audience and grow your account.

Just make sure in any case that you use hashtags in your content, you should always make sure that it is related to what you are posting and to the niche within which you are posting.
