Once again another year has ended, and we take a look back at a few of the many books reviewed in KRL in 2017. All but one of our main reviewers share in this post their top 5 favorite books they reviewed in 2017 (well some of them may fudge on that a bit).

LeAnne Hogan was someone to watch in the military. Sent to Afghanistan, she worked with the local people through an interpreter. Local women felt more comfortable around her than male soldiers until she shot and killed a suicide bomber at the opening of a center for women.

Chet is back, and he’s a busy guy! He has to be ready to grab the perp by the pants leg as soon as Bernie gives the signal, which could happen at any time. That’s what they do at the Little Detective Agency, Little being Bernie’s last name. Chet is the 100-pound dog/enforcer who always goes in first to protect Bernie.

Another year is coming to a close and the main reviewers of KRL have been asked to pick their top 5 books of 2014, but most of us couldn’t keep it to 5! Let us know if you have a few we haven’t mentioned you’d like to share about in the comments, and while you are here check KRL’s book review section for many more great books that may not have made it on the list!

When we last saw Chet (the dog) and Bernie (the human), the forces to be reckoned with and the entire staff of the Little Detective Agency (Little is Bernie’s last name), they were in Bayou Country and anxious to head home. On the other hand, Susie is in Washington, D. C. so it’s practically on the way, right? A drop in visit sounds like just the kind of surprise she’d like.

KRL reviewed a lot of really good and great books in 2013, but we decided to give our best shot at choosing our top 5 of the year–some of us cheated a little, but here are our choices! And if you are an author who is not on the list, take heart–like I said, they were all good books!

This is the sixth episode of the Chet and Bernie mystery series, featuring the Little Detective Agency; “Little” is Bernie’s last name in case you’re wondering. Chet is the Canine Detective and the tales are told from his point of view, not always an easy task but Quinn does it better than anyone else.

We don’t have a movie review today so thought it would be fun to provide some more reading suggestions for your holiday and the beginning of fall. Some of these are brand new books coming out this month, and others are from earlier this year.
