Pitbull Entertains Table Mountain Casino

by Steven Sanchez

Kings River Life had the privilege of covering “Mr. Worldwide” himself, Pitbull, on July 28, when he entertained the crowd at Table Mountain Casino. The rapper, singer, songwriter, businessman, and actor brought his signature blend of genres to the show. He’s known for dabbling in all kinds of musical styles ranging from hip hop, Latin, reggaeton, rap, and pop. All the hits he played were equally satisfying to the diverse crowd who attended the show. We had the honor of covering him back in February 2020, so it’s been a long time coming for his return, and it was great.

Fresno Bully Rescue: Checkers & Sy

What exactly is a Pitbull? The fact is that there is no such thing as a “full-blooded" Pitbull. The majority of dogs labeled as Pitbulls are mixed breed dogs, however they are labeled a Pitbull due to a few of the following characteristics. A large broad head, eyes that set low on the skull and well apart, short hair, muscular build, and some physical traits commonly found in bully types such as a Bulldog or an American Pitbull Terrier.

When you become involved in rescue, if you didn’t know it before, you quickly learn that life isn’t fair and people can be superficial. Black dogs and cats for instance, whether the lack of interesting markings or stigma with historical perceptions of witches with black animals, etc., are statistically adopted less often than their counterparts.

It’s hard to imagine how anyone could mistreat a four-legged friend. They are such loving and loyal companions. Yet, all too often we hear of Pitbulls who are abused, neglected, and abandoned. Some of the lucky ones find their way to rescues where they are given a second chance at a happy ending and can be adopted into good, loving homes.

Steven’s Eventful January/February

by Steven Sanchez

It’s 2020, not only a new year, but a new decade. Last year was a phenomenal 12-month timeline for events in the Central Valley. It definitely did serve as a worthy exclamation point to what was a good decade of entertainment options. The 2010s did set the bar, but I hope that the 20s will take it to another level. This past January and February was a very good warmup as the year is taking shape, and it’ll continue on as more acts will be announced on who’ll be trekking to the area to provide music, laughs, and good times. Here are some of the acts that came out of the starting gate to set the benchmark for the rest of the year.

Fresno Bully Rescue: A Home for the Holidays

’Tis the season for family, celebrations, and finding the perfect Christmas morning gift to set under the tree. Sometimes that big surprise might include bringing home a new pet! Surprising the family with a puppy, wrapped in a big bow Christmas morning, watching the kids run down the stairs and scream with excitement sounds like those Hallmark movies we’ve all come to love - but the story doesn't always end up as perfect as we imagine.

Fresno Bully Rescue: Spike’s Visit

by Spike

Tonight I went with a really nice lady, she told me I was going for a special visit to a place called Windham Assisted Living Center. As we drove along, she filled me in about Windham. It was filled with wonderful seniors that love dogs and that they were excited to meet me. I wondered if they knew I was a Pitbull? People sometimes get a funny look on their face or refuse to pet me when they find out that I am one. It only makes me want to wag my tail a bit faster and my smile bigger!
