As the nights lengthen and the falling leaves unleash the fiery hues of autumn, the world darkens as the veil between realms grows thin. The cold, damp air thickens to an icy mist, blanketing the Central Valley in otherworldly fog.
A new theatre company has arisen in the Valley during the pandemic called Madera Theatre Project. I spoke recently with those behind the project: Ginger Latimer, Artistic Director, Jim Kocher, Executive Director Madera County Arts Council, Brandon Gilles, VAPA Director Madera Unified.

A pumpkin-orange moon hung low on the dark horizon, peeking over the distant foothills as it rose. It lit up the fields in an otherworldly glow as we drove down a desolate country road, toward the white-hot lights piercing the darkness.
Season ticket holders with Reedley's River City Theatre Company have become very familiar with a recurring character named Fanny Feastyoureyes, created by River City Artistic Director Mark Norwood.
