Bea Cartright owns Bea and Bees, on South Bass Island. It’s a nice, quiet retreat, at least when murder and mayhem aren’t on the schedule. There are other B&Bs on the island, of course, but when The Twins open Tara, complete with fake Spanish moss hanging from the trees, the over the top décor and atmosphere draw in visitors from all over. The Twins are a media sensation. Kidnapped as teenagers and the children of a movie star, gorgeous to boot, they can outdo the Kardashians in the publicity department.

Until it all went south, Laurel Inwood spent six years living it up as the personal chef for Hollywood movie actress Meghan Cohan. Accustomed to exotic locations, luxurious accommodations, and an unlimited budget for gourmet ingredients, Laurel had the best of everything so long as she catered to the whims of the celebrity star. False accusations of leaking information now have Laurel blacklisted and out of a job, which is how she finds herself in Hubbard, Ohio.

It’s A Front Page Affair when the Lusitania sinks, a shooting occurs at JP Morgan’s mansion and the Great War is on.

Ghostbusters have descended on South Bass Island just in time for Halloween. For a place that celebrates a “funeral” for the summer season and promotes legendary ghost, Charlie “Sleepy” Harlow, their presence is not met with open arms. The last time the Elkhart Ghost Getters (EGG) were in town to film their television show, they destroyed Kate Wilder’s future wine crop and are now banned from the winery.
