Now that Holly Miller’s grandmother is taking a much-needed cruise to Hong Kong, Holly is excited and anxious to be left in charge of their Sugar Maple Inn. It may be the slowest time of the year for tourists, but Wagtail, Virginia, is hosting its first Murder Most Howl, a combination murder-mystery weekend and scavenger hunt. In this pet-friendly and animal-themed town, local businesses will be housing guests and assisting in hiding clues that lead towards the game’s final solution.

About ten years ago, someone dumped a litter of puppies on my road. I didn’t have the heart to bring them to the pound where those sweet babies would have to lay on cold concrete. And I couldn’t bear to think what might happen to them if they weren’t adopted, so they landed in my laundry room. About eight weeks old, they were weaned and readily gobbled kibble.
