coffeehouse

I always look forward to a new Coffeehouse Mystery by Cleo Coyle–not only does it promise great characters and a well plotted mystery, but I feel like I’m walking into my favorite coffeehouse, enjoying the heavenly smell of coffee brewing, and spending some time with old friends. Dead Cold Brew is the latest book in this series and was as worth the wait as a great cappuccino.

It dawned on me this week that atmosphere plays a big part in my choice of books. Places I would love to spend time in, described in a way that makes them come to life, really draw me in as much as a great character and story. That’s what drew me to Carolyn Hart’s Death On Demand series set in a mystery bookstore and that’s what draws me in to Cleo Coyle’s Coffeehouse Mystery series.

Mystery and coffee—what a perfect combination, and Murder By Mocha has both. This series is set in a coffee house and treats the reader not only to a fun mystery but coffee info and recipes as well! As I read this book, I could almost smell the heavenly scent of coffee lifting off the pages and filling the room.
