G.I. Joe: Retaliation: Movie Review

I went into G.I. Joe: Retaliation having only a vague idea of what to expect. Unlike many children, I didn’t grow up immersed in the world of G.I. Joe, although I’ve certainly heard the name a few thousand times. That being said, I wasn’t entirely surprised when what I ended up getting was a fairly generic action film packed with as many fight scenes and big, fiery explosions as they could jam into two hours. And trust me, there are plenty.

Looper is not only one of the best movies of 2012, but it is one of the greatest science fiction films to come out in the last ten years. The movie is set thirty years in the future, giving the movie a blend of present day and future technology. It’s enough to make the movie feel grounded in reality and make everything seem believable.

The Expendables return to fulfill your action star nostalgia quota for the month. After a successful first film, Sylvester Stallone returns with a star-studded cast that includes: Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Liam Hemsworth, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. That is a lot of star and a lot of testosterone. OK I am not going to bore you with the plot because really does the plot matter when you have some of the most prolific action stars since the since the eighties. It delivers with the action, over the top kill sequences and the stars look pretty good doing it.
