Central Valley residents of all ages are invited to participate in the
second March for Science, as a show of solidarity for the scientific
community and a celebration of the contributions continuously made to
society. According to the national March for Science foundation, “We
can do so much more to unite science and our community because no
matter your view on policy – Science Matters.”
The march will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Radio Park from
3 to 5 p.m. The March will begin on the corners of Orchard Street and
Clinton Avenue and continue down to the intersection of Clinton and
Blackstone Avenues. Participants will fan out to all four corners of
the intersection for the remainder of the march.
The second March for Science is partnering with Earth Day Fresno. This
is a local group with the mission of inspiring people to make changes
in their daily lives to help restore the ecological health of our San
Joaquin Valley and the world. Earth Day Fresno activities will be held
at Radio Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information on the Earth Day
Fresno celebration can be found at www.earthdayfrenso.org.
Marchers are asked to bring their own signs. It is important to stay
on the sidewalk and respect both pedestrians and vehicle traffic. The
march will be held rain or shine. All required permits will be
obtained. Please check out the March for Science – 2018 event page on
