Evie Ladin CD Release Concert Friday May 4 at Frank’s Place at the Warnor’s Center for the
Performing Arts 7:30
The polyrhythmic heat and funk of Evie Ladin’s clawhammer banjo, resonant voice, real stories and rhythmic dance – have been heard from A Prairie Home Companion to Celtic Connections, Lincoln Center to Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Known as a driving force behind San Francisco’s Stairwell Sisters, Evie’s solo debut Float Downstream (2010) was produced by Mike Marshall and Keith Terry.
The musicians in the Evie Ladin Band are remarkably talented and quirky interpreters who tease out gorgeous beds of new trad music. Keith Terry (bass, Body Music) is a renowned percussionist/rhythm
dancer and the founder of the International Body Music Festival; Dina Maccabee (fiddle) combines mastery on the violin with voice and body percussion in Real Vocal String Quartet and others; Erik Pearson
(guitar, banjo) is a musician’s musician, and plays with the Crooked Jades and storyteller Dianne Ferlatte. $15 ADV/FFS $20 Door

Lane Family Concert Friday May 11 @ Fresno Brewing Co on the Fulton Mall 7:30
The FFS is proud to present the first annual Lane Family Band spring concert. Siblings David Lane, Kathleen Lane and Shelley Lane were blessed with parents who shared their love of music with
them. Now they would like to share some of that musical magic with you: a fun variety of songs from way back when ’til nearly now, a collection of family favorites, a chapter from our audio biography.
Please join us on May 11 at the Fresno Brewing Co. on the Fulton Mall at 7:30 PM $5 FFS/ADV and $7 at the door

The Lovebirds Friday May 25 at Fresno Brewing Co 7:30
Award-winning songwriter Lindsay White (originally from the Central Valley) is joined by her partner & San Diego Music Award-winner Veronica May. You may be tempted to compare them to the Indigo Girls, but a closer
listen reveals similarities to other duos like The Weepies, She & Him and First Aid Kit. The Lovebirds will melt your heart with sugary-sweet guitar/ukulele riffs, graceful harmonies, and lyrics that
testify to the unshakable power of love. The duo has been gaining momentum with both local and national media recognition (San Diego Troubadour, Out Front Colorado, and Curve Magazine.) They are coming
with their debut album, Nutsy Pants, produced by acclaimed San Diego producer Jeff Berkley of Berkley Sound, and mastered by Lurssen Mastering. $7 ADV/FFS $10 door
