Visalia Parks & Recreation:

21st Annual Dia Del Nino Kids Festival

Join us April 28th from 10am – 12pm at the Manuel Hernandez Community Center to celebrate the 21st Annual Dia Del Nino Kids Festival. There will be dance performances, live music, fitness activities, information and vendor booths and more. This event is a great reminder that children are our community’s most precious resource. Admission is free to the community and everyone is welcome.

Mother Son Campout – Rescheduled

The Visalia Parks and Recreation Department will host its 3rd annual Mother Son Campout, May 5th & 6th. This campout is a great opportunity for mothers to spend some quality time with their sons. The campout will take place at Sunset Park (Monte Verde & Lisendra), where mothers and sons will play games and activities. Dinner and breakfast are included. Tents and sleeping gear are not provided. Check in and set up begin and 4pm on Saturday and the event will conclude with Breakfast on Sunday.

Ages: Boys 4 – 12, with Mom

Time: 4pm – 9am

Cost: $25 per couple, $5 each additional child

Vi-Tri for Kids event

Visalia Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for the second annual Vi-Tri for Kids event. The triathlon includes swimming, biking and running event for Boys and Girls Ages 6-12. The event will take place at 8:00am on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Golden West High School. The event will utilize Golden West High School Swimming pool and the Groppetti Community Stadium. Participants are requested to pre-register prior to June 1st online at www.liveandplayvisalia.com or at the Anthony Community Center (345 N. Jacob) to secure an event shirt. Participants will receive healthy snacks, t-shirt and goodie bags. Fee for the event is only $35 per person. For detailed participant information and map routes visit our website under the “health and wellness” icon. Sponsors include A & W, Jamba Juice & Applebee’s.
